I love Christmas – understatement for any who know me 🙂 – and every year I try to find new ideas for decorations and our girls craft day. This year for our craft day we made pressed clay ornaments that we baked in the oven. We used cookie cutters for the shapes and pressed lace and various other items into the clay before baking, which only took 20 minutes and only 10 more minutes for them to cool enough to paint. It was fun to see how creative everyone was.

I found two ideas on Pinterest for new decorations this year. One was for a centerpiece for our farmhouse table in the kitchen and the other was for our library. The centerpiece decoration I embellished from an idea I saw on Pinterest of a toy truck carrying a Christmas tree in the bed of the truck on a table runner. I decided to add a lighted cabin, trees and snow and put it all in a tray for a more country feel. For the library, I used a small trunk I had and put a small tree inside the trunk (I already had the tree too) and found a cute country garland and star at a local bazaar and added red timer fairy lights to the tree.

This Christmas was especially fun for me as we had many family and friends who visited and many who hadn’t seen our home before. We are considering opening our home for tours in 2016, so will keep you posted. Here are some photos of our home this Christmas.
