We had such a fun, eventful Christmas season this year! We went to the Zoo Lights with our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters and also got to see the Oregon Gardens light show this year too. We had our annual girls craft day, making little mini elves out of pinecones, and also kissing balls with pine cones, greenery and berries. We also had our girls holiday tea.
We also had a couple snow events that are very unusual for our area, so that just made the Christmas season that much better. Steve always hangs Christmas lights under our hummingbird feeder as soon as the temps get cold enough to freeze their food. I managed to get a photo of one of our tiny friends getting a drink one day.
Our family Christmas on Christmas Eve was so much fun this year, as always, but we had some additions this year that made it even more fun and special. Our daughter Kym and her husband Adrian played Christmas carols for us – Kym on her ukelele and Adrian on his guitar. Our granddaughter Hadley played her piano recital numbers for us too. We had our annual tradition of our crazy pickle game, of course, but this year we added a new game that I saw on Facebook and just had to do. It’s the Santa Hat game (look it up on Facebook, it is a kick!) and it was a BIG hit with everyone, so we have added a new tradition.
It is such a magical, special time of year and we had so much fun sharing good times with family and friends.
Here are some photos from our Christmas adventures.
Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you a very Happy New Year!
I just love this time of year when the leaves are turning, snuggling up in cozy throws by the fire, the house filled with candlelight, and simmering potpourri on the stove. I thought I would share our Fall farmhouse with you. Each year I find a new decoration to create and this year it is my white pumpkin with the silhouette of a crow and tree. I saw this in a catalogue and decided to do it myself. Last year I made the bling-y spider web on a white pumpkin, and years ago I woodburned the Halloween witch.
So cozy down with a cup of hot cider and enjoy 🙂
