Steve, Izzi and I went on our favorite Fall drive this last weekend through the Mackenzie Pass. Our weather has been so beautiful the past few weeks and the colors of the leaves are just breathtaking this year, with no wind or rain. We always make a stop at the Christmas Treasures shop along Highway 126 along the Mackenzie River. It is open year-round and always fun to look for a unique Christmas ornament or gift. Another stop we make is at Scott Lake, near Sisters, because of the great view of the 3 Sisters mountains from the lake. In years past we had to bundle up good when we got to Scott Lake because of the cold at its high altitude (over 4,000 feet), but this year it was amazingly warm – no coats were needed. Izzi loved checking out the area by the lake and exercising a bit before we headed back on the road. We stopped in Sisters for ice cream and headed back home. What a perfect Fall day!
